Brewers to use 50th Anniversary Commemorative in 2020!

Posted on January 26, 2020January 31, 2020 by Eric Abneri

I just received a photo of the baseball they will be using this season. It is not the best photo, but I am working on getting something better and when I do, i’ll update this post immediately.

As we take a look at the baseball, the logo size is small consistent with what we’ve seen, but it inst microscopic. I believe the logo is the exact same as the one the Brewers are wearing as a sleeve patch next season.

Here’s a much better look at that logo!

First of all, I love that it includes the years, and that it says golden anniversary, I do not believe we have had that on a ball yet. The ball in glove logo is synonymous with the Brewers, a key part of their identity. It is interesting to note the numbering font is the same as their new for 2020 jersey numbering font.

Take a look at that very small TM!

When I take a closer look at the ball I see something I speculated on in the last post, and now am confirming with this post. See that “TM” trademark symbol above? The renderings for the spring baseballs showed them, and now this baseball shows it. It is always possible the “TM” will be a retail only thing, but I highly doubt it, this seems to confirm that all of our commemorative moving forward will have the “TM” trademark insignia. That is not visually pleasing, and extremely unfortunate.

Now for its use I have heard some rumblings of it being used for all Saturdays, and some rumors of it being only 5 Saturdays. I am not exactly sure which, but I am reaching out to the club and working to confirm what the deal is, and I will update this post and put it in the 2020 preview post once I do get confirmation. The Brewers are having 5 “Decade Weekends” so I suppose this has something to do with it.

You can get these from USA Sports Marketing Here!

P.S. Article on the rest of the 2020 commemoratives, with speculation and confirmed ones in the works coming soon!
