The Philadelphia Phillies announced they will be using a baseball to commemorate retiring Roy Halladay’s number on Sunday, August 8th. It will be a busy weekend for them, as the day before they will be using the Wall of Fame commemorative for their yearly induction.
As for style, we have no photos yet, but I have been told it will look similar to the Dick Allen number retirement baseball pictured below.
EDIT: I have received a photo from a source who wishes to remain anonymous of what the design will be, here it is:

Overall, that make a pretty lame commemorative, of all the things that could have been done with this, they settle for a lame number and name. In the future I hope they spice up their WOF and number retirement logos. I will update with pics of the actual ball when received.
This will mark the first time in recent memory that a team is using two different single game commemoratives on back to back days.
For now the only way to get these baseballs will be to contact John Hollinger at the Phillies, who will send out an email when they are ready to be sold retail and in game used form, his email is jhollinger@phillies.com. You can find this baseball on eBay from a trusted seller, here.
Upcoming for potential commemoratives we have the field of dreams game, and the Rockies number retirement of Larry Walker. No pics or confirmation of either, but both have a good chance of a commemorative being used. That’s all for now, thanks for reading!
Edit: Thank you to the source who shared the photo with me, much appreciated!
Thanks for the update! I saw a baseball on Ebay for the 50th Anniversary of the Pirates WS in 1971. Do you know if this is an official ball usded in games?
Thanks,
Brandon
Yes it was, I got quite behind last season. Apologies.
