This is set to be an exciting year for commemorative baseballs, and in this post I am going to preview what we likely to see this season. Here’s the list of the commemoratives we are likely to see this season/have already seen. (I will update the list with photos and more info as the year goes along and we get more of both.)

2019 Spring Training FL

2019 Spring Training AZ
The minimalist designs on these spring training baseballs is something we have not seen a lot of in commemoratives. The “Official 2019 Spring Training” is something that has been the same over the course of spring training commemorative history as well. I quite like that touch. You can get the AZ version on eBay here. You can also get the FL version on eBay, here.

For their first game at CoolToday park (their last game of spring training) the Atlanta Braves used this special commemorative by surprise.

This design of the opening series logo baseball that was used in Tokyo for the two game series is quite interesting, it is a play on the normal opening day commemorative logo with the same banner style, and the same font as well. Find them on eBay, here (dozens only).

The opening day baseball is quite a disappointment, as it is the exact same logo and design as last season with the only tweak being the year. It was used for all opening day and home opener games around the league. You can find these here, on eBay.

In the two regular season series (and possibly in the spring series) in Monterrey, Mexico this baseball was used. It is an upgrade from last season, but still a little lacking. The tiny micro text is tough to get perfect on the baseball. Find them on eBay, here (dozens only).

I’m thrilled to finally be able to show this logo off, I absolutely love it. Simplistic but a big piece of Padres history in there. I know some work went into this to make it ready for the season. Expect it for every home game at Petco this season. Find these here, on eBay.

Since corporate names are no longer allowed on baseballs, this one is only allowed to say final season. I think it looks great quite honestly. It will be used for all home games at Globe Life Park this season.

I love this baseball, the Reds did a great job with this one, and it will be used for all of their home games except for the throwback jersey games. That is where we get an unprecedented move, of a secondary commemorative baseball.

The Reds 150th anniversary secondary logo is used just for the reds throwback games, their 15 throwback games this season listed here. Never before has a team used two different commemorates commemorating the exact same thing like this. You can find these here, on eBay.

This ball is pretty boring, as I expected due to the weak promo material and logos MLB has shown. It will be used for the two games played in London (Yankees vs Red Sox) June 29-30. You can find these balls here, on eBay.

This ball was not talked about or shown before the actual day of the event. I love it! It features the state of Nebraska and both team logos as well as the MLB logo. There is also a larger retail version of this baseball that was very rare and only released at the game in store.

It’s taken a looong time to see this baseball, and it is lackluster as expected. Similar to the last few years, it is just a spell-out with an advertisement. It will be great for autographs though, as the game always has a star studded lineup.

Same design as last year, same small sized logo as last year, only difference is the year. You can get these on eBay, here.

Just like the normal ball, the magenta “Moneyball” has the same design as last year, same small sized logo as last year, only difference is the year.

Not impressed by this one at all. They could have used the nice guitar logo and instead went for a spell-out. Weak. You can get these here, on eBay.

On June 29, 2019, the Detroit Tigers will use this baseball to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the 1984 World Series Championship. This ball is the retail version of the logo, the real thing will be a lot smaller. The design is almost exactly the same as last seasons 50th anniversary of the 1968 champions. There was a previous design for this baseball, look for prototypes!

This ball will be presumably the same as last years (pictured) and used on the day the Phillies induct their new Wall of Fame members on August 3rd. You can find these on eBay, here.

This photoshop was posted by the Mariners, and will be similar to the actual baseball used (expect the logo to be smaller!!) on the weekend of August 9th, 10th and 11th. You can find them on eBay here.

Awesome site. Going to London and can’t wait to see that ball.
Hopefully ill make it next season, we should see the ball in the near future of a month or two.
So great! Thanks for this!
Thank you!
Do you know if the Brewers are going to use a 50th Year ball this year?
They will be celebrating next year, they dont appreciate the pilots I guess.
